Greetings from the Studio by the Lake. Happy New Year to all! It’s the beginning of a new decade; are we ready for it? At the studio we are working like elves to create some new and exciting projects for our winter classes. Both Deb and I have found that some of the “new” projects are actually from older designs. We’ve searched for fun techniques and pleasing pieces. Deb is working on a monochromatic design by Sharon Bounonato of a lovely winter scene. I’ve been convinced by many of my students to teach them Bobbie Takashima’s Jack “Frost and the snow Fearies”. Another, is a mug with a funky cup cake motif; and hopefully the rusty moons will arrive and we will paint the newest crescent moon design; a wreath with a great Santa sitting amongst the gifts, checking his list. We hope you are as excited about these projects as we are.
- “Finishing School” has proven to be popular and will continue into the Fall. Current schedule is for once or twice a month. These classes are for you to come in and get some help in finishing up those projects that have been left on the painting table. Click on Creative Touch Classes and Creative Touch Workshops for details of this and other classes and workshops.. A NEW OFFERING - The Creative Touch and the Quilted Acorn Shoppe have teamed up to bring something new and different directly to you! Cynthia Erekson will come to the studio by the lake to teach a 1 day workshop. Cynthia’s project is a combination of needle felting and decorative painting. In exchange, I will teach a colored pencil piece at the Quilted Acorn Shoppe. We’ll do the traveling so you won’t have to. Look for more details soon on my web site and in the next newsletter.
