Workshops taught at The Creative Touch are designed to focus on a specific project. They are varied in nature, including decorative painting, faux finishing, and stenciling. For workshops you will need brushes and general painting supplies - specific supply lists are given at time of registration.

ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOP

  Faux finishes continue to be a hot item in decorative arts and home decorating. Re-create leather, granite, mahogany, and other easy and fun faux finishes with the use of color glazes and common items such as bubble wrap, plastic wrap, sponges and other household items.  Add some decorative painted accents to transform that old chair, table, bench, trunk or box into an heirloom piece. A good knowledge of decorative painting is required.

The class will work on sample boards to be kept as a reference for use when refinishing furniture or painting smaller pieces such as jewelry boxes and picture frames. 

  A Quiet Cove - a peaceful seascape on 16 X20 canvas.  Great painting techniques will be taught including palette knife painting, water and sky techniques.

COLORED PENCIL WORKSHOP

  Indigo Bunting - draw a lovely study of a brightly colored bird sitting on a Forsythia branch. 9X12 Stonehenge paper.

WATER COLOR WORKSHOP

   Mountain lake - paint a peaceful landscape and learn the use of masking fluid to create light affects.  9X12 140# water color paper.  Adapted from a book Simplified Watercolor Landscapes by Tom Jones.
